『夢』は大きく　『念い』は熱く

毎日ありがとうございます。先日、UTYのテレビ番組、Akatsuki【暁】の取材がありました。ジット本社へ来社、1日かけて撮影をしていただきました。また、ラジオ日本【AM1422ｋHｚ】「三輪有子のしあわせ道・東條由布子の蘇れハート・オブ・ジャパン」の番組にも出演させていただきました。

豊かな日本の、“もったいない”という気持ちを次世代に伝えていくこと。ジットの使用済みインクカートリッジの回収、リサイクルインクへ込められた、環境への取り組み。ものを作るのも、良いことや悪いことの判断をするのも、全てが『人』であるということ。『人の心』の大切さを大事にして、人と人、縁と縁とを結び、つながり、幸せの輪を広げていくことがジットの思いです。熱く、強い思いは、必ず伝わります。『人』の成長は無限であり、幸せに限界はありません。
この機会に、まだジットを知らない、という方にもジットが何を大事にして、どんなことをしていて、どんな人たちが働いているのか、少しでも伝えることができたらと思っています。放映・放送は、下記の通りです。

In the Media

I am thankful every day. The other day, a film crew from UTY Television visited the office to collect data and take photos for their program “Dawn.” I also appeared on two of AM1422kHz Radio Japan’s programs: Sanrin Yuko’s “Way of Happiness” and Tojo Yuko’s “Resurected Heart of Japan.”

How can affluent Japan convey to the next generation the ideas of frugality and not being wasteful? JIT’s refurbished ink cartridge system is one initiative taken toward dealing with the environment. Whether the creation of a product or judging whether something is good or bad, all comes down to people. JIT’s desire is to treasure the value of the human heart, unite the bonds between people, and expand the circle of happiness. Passionate, strong feelings will certainly be communicated. The potential for growth and happiness of humans is unlimited.

In these recent media events it is my hope that I was able to convey to those who do not yet know about JIT what our values are and what kind of people are working here. The air dates are as follows:

新年のご挨拶回りの出張の合間に、ジットセレモニー協力会社の皆さんに改装して新しくなったジット甲府プラザに、皆さんとの輪を広げて、交流の場を持っていただきたいと考え、ご夫婦・ご家族で来ていただきました。



今年、ジットは足元を固めていくことを大事に、1月3日には恒例の社員と家族の新年会をジット甲府プラザで行いしました。ヴァンフォーレ甲府の皆さんにもホールを利用していただくことで地域社会に貢献し、そして今回は、セレモニーの協力会社の皆さんとの懇親会でホールを見ていただき、大不況の今だからこそ、明るい話題で皆さんが元気になってもらえるように、プラス思考に、頑張っていこういう気持ちになってもらいたいと考えました。



山梨のために、日本のために、そして皆の未来のために、ジットはあります。ジットも、協力会社の皆さんも、ジットを利用してくださる皆さんも、『三方良し』で皆が幸せになれるように、これからも努めて参ります。よろしくお願いいたします。




Collaborators with JIT Ceremony

In the midst of a round of business trips to give New Year’s greetings to our partner companies, a party was held at JIT’s newly remodeled Kofu Plaza. The purpose of this party was to broaden the circle of JIT collaborators and share information with the families there.

This year at JIT we stress progressing on solid footing and on January 3rd held the annual New Year’s party for our employees and their families at Kofu Plaza. Kofu Plaza’s contributions to the region can also be seen in the recent Ventforet soccer team’s meeting and yesterday’s JIT Ceremony collaborators’ meeting. It was my hope that particularly in this recession, everyone would be encouraged by the positive thinking and fighting spirits.

JIT exists for the sake of Yamanashi and Japan, and for the future of everyone. Together with its collaborators and all those using JIT products, JIT will go forward dilligently for the happiness of everyone. Thank you.

1/18　ヴァンフォーレ甲府の選手・サポーティングスタッフ、総勢160名のサポーティングスタッフ交流会が、ジット甲府プラザにて執り行われました。出張の合間に、私も少しだけ会場へ行きました。



海野社長のご挨拶には、前年度スポンサーの撤退、会員数の減少により、収入はギリギリの状態の中で、ジットがユニフォームスポンサーになったとご報告くださり、ご来場の皆様からは、拍手をいただいたと聞きました。ありがとうございます。
今期、ヴァンフォーレ甲府のスローガンは『ICHIGAN』です。“1”には、J1への復帰の気持ちを込めていると伺いました。チーム、サポーター、スタッフ、地域の皆が『一丸』となるという思いは、ジットも同じです。



地域へ貢献をして、少しでも山梨を元気にしたいという思いから、ジット甲府プラザを利用して、ヴァンフォーレ甲府サポーティングスタッフ交流会を開催していただきました。今年、ヴァンフォーレ甲府の皆さんも、厳しい状況からJ1昇格を目指しています。佐久間GMのご挨拶の中には、この厳しいシーズンですが、安間監督を中心に選手の皆は財産であり、サポートしてくれるボランティアの皆さんがいてくれるからヴァンフォーレ甲府がある、とおっしゃっていたと伺いました。ジットも、ヴァンフォーレ甲府と、そして地域の皆さんと『一丸』となって応援していきます。



　
　

JIT’s Kofu Plaza

　
On January 18th, the Ventforet Kofu soccer team’s support staff meeting was held at JIT’s Kofu Plaza. Over 160 people attended, among them both players and members of the support staff.

In President Unno’s remarks, he spoke about sponsors that had withdrawn their support in the last year, the decrease in membership numbers, and the currently low income level. Amidst this, however, he mentioned JIT’s decision to become the uniform sponsor for the Ventforet soccer team, news which was met by applause from everyone there for which I am most grateful. This year, Ventforet’s slogan is “Ichigan,” or “One Body.” The “one” in this slogan refers to the wish to return to Japan’s top professional soccer league, commonly referred to as “J1.” The idea of all regional members – from the team, supporters, to staff members – banning together as one is an idea shared by JIT.

With a wish to contribute to the region and enliven Yamanashi, Ventforet Kofu support staff used JIT’s Kofu Plaza to hold their meeting. This year, the Ventforet team is aiming to rise from the difficult conditions the reach J1 status. In his speech, General Manager Sakuma said that the Ventforet team exists because of the presence of support staff and, focusing on Director Anma, the asset that each player is to the team. JIT will also become one with Ventforet and everyone in the region in cheering for the Ventforet team.

1/13　山梨学院大学付属小学校の4・5年生を対象にしたエコの授業が行われました。そこで私が企業サポーターのアイディア・取り組みの紹介をしました。私の一番下の息子も現在、小学校6年生。親と同じ立場で、同じ目線で、子供たちにジットの取り組みと私の思いを15分という短い時間でしたが、お話させていただきました。



年賀状を作成する時に使う、プリンタのインク。空になった使用済みのインクカートリッジ1500万個が、今までは全てゴミとして扱われていました。そこで、私たちは1999年から、使い終わったインクカートリッジにもう一度インクを入れて、新しくリサイクルインクを販売しました。
環境の問題は、原点に戻る事。皆のおじいさんやおばあさんの時代、昔の時代に人間がどうやって生きていくのがいいのかを教えてくれているものです。一つの例ですが『水』は、昔はどこにでもある、自然のものでした。私も、貧乏だった子供の頃、ジュースの代わりに水道の水を飲んでいました。蛇口を開ければたくさんの水が自由に飲めました。
大人が便利な世の中にしたいために、林や森を切りました。冷暖房を使って自然の暑さや寒さの我慢をしなくなりました。ものをすぐに買う。“もったいない”という気持ち、1円というお金のありがたさ、水のありがたさを知り、お父さん、お母さんへ感謝することの大切さに気づいて欲しいと思います。昔の時代に戻ってみてください。えんぴつ1本も、皆、手で削っていました。皆、持つ部分がなくなるまで使いました。消しゴムも、一度使ったカスを集めて、のりで固めて、また使いました。ひとつのものを大事にすること、“もったいない”という気持ちが『エコ』になります。



ジットでは、電気の使用を減らすために、必要なところだけを付けたり、消したりできるように、ひとつひとつの電気にひもがついています。コピー用紙も、一度使用した紙は、もう一度裏を使うようにしています。事務所の中にも、たくさんの緑を置いています。ジットは、ひとつひとつのもの、自然を大切にしようと、取り組んでいる会社です。また、あいさつも大事にしています。当たり前の事を当たり前に行動することがジットの行動指針です。



今、皆ができること。何でもいいと思います。ノートを最後まで使うとか、先生や友達、家族にいつもありがとうと言う。そういう気持ちを持っている子供たちが環境を大切にできます。これからも、頑張って欲しいと思います。是非一度ジットに来て会社を、ジットの社員を見てください。
　
　
　

Ecology Class

　
As I write this, I am beginning a month-long series of business trips that will, I’m afraid, postpone the next update until next month.

On January 13th, I was priviledged to attend the ecology class for fourth and fifth graders at Yamanashi University’s affiliated elementary school. There I introduced JIT’s ideas and initiatives as ecological supporters. Looking at the students, so near in age to my youngest son, I spoke to them from the viewpoint of a parent.

Until now, almost all of the 15,000,000 ink cartridges used in printing New Year’s cards each year were thrown away as garbage. Since 1999, however, JIT has taken these used ink cartridges, refilled them with new ink, and sold them as new recycled ink cartridges.

I believe that environmental problems are a chance to return to the starting point, to think about the time when our grandparents were young and to take from that what was good about their way of life. Take water, for instance. When I was young, my family was very poor and instead of juice I drank water. If I but opened the tap, there was plenty of water for me to drink.

As they get older, humans in their quest for comfort and convenience tear down the forests and woodlands. Rather than persevering through hot summers and cold winters, people immediately go out and buy air conditioners and heaters. I hope that we remember the value of water, the value of one penny, and recognize the importance of being thankful to our parents. Please try to return to the days of yore when we sharpened pencils by hand and used them until the very end. Erasers as well were used as long as possible with even their flakes being mushed back into the whole to be used as long as possible. It is this valuing of even one small thing that makes up “ecology.”

At JIT, in order to reduce the amount of consumed electricity, we only turn on lights when we need to. Similarly, copy and printer paper is reused and the plethora of plants around the office are carefully tended. JIT is a company that values each and every aspect of nature just as it does greetings. It is our policy to be reliable in ordinary things.

Everyone is capable of doing something now. I believe that no matter what it is – whether using a notebook until the very last page or always saying thank you to teachers, friends, and family – it is good. Children with such values are able to cherish the environment and it is my hope that they will continue to work hard.

3年前に田中先生に出会うことができ紹介していただき、HPDの國司所長、内藤先生と出会い、それまでの私の歩んできた人生の反省と、皆さんへの感謝の気持ちを教えて頂きました。
私は本当に運がいい。本当にツイている。私は逆境には絶対に負けない。思いは必ず成し遂げる。可能性に限界はない。景気良し、不景気さらに良し、ピンチをチャンスに変えていく、という思いで、2009年をスタートさせました。
昨年、亀のように一歩一歩を確実に歩んでこれたのも、私に付いて来てくれた皆さんがいてくれたからです。ありがとうございます。
18年前、私がジットを立ち上げた当時の目標は、本社屋の建設でした。そして、ジットセレモニーを設立した時は、山梨県の各地にホールを建設する事が目標でした。私はひとつの目標が達成できそうになると、すぐに次の目標を立てます。まずは思う。そして、思ったことは口にする。皆の前で公言する。言ったら、必ず行動する。
私は弱虫な人間です。こうして皆さんの前で強気なことを言っていても、内心ではビクビクしていて頭痛が止まらず、夜も眠れないほどです。神経が弱く、不安で、本当に気が弱い私ですが、皆の為に、今、生きている証をこのジットで、皆さんと一緒に残していきたいと思っています。



厳しい時こそ、家族、社員、仲間を大事にすること。私と幹部がもっともっと意思の疎通を図り、この経営計画に向けて進んでいきます。
ジットセレモニーは山梨県の皆さんの為にあります。“人良し、設備良し、価格良し”。この3つが揃っているのはジットセレモニーしかありません。足元である山梨県にはジットセレモニーの葬儀を通して社会に地域に貢献し、リサイクルを通して日本に貢献し、たっぷりントで世界に貢献します。
これからがジットの時代です。今年2009年は、ジットにとっても、本当に運がいい年です。出会うべくして出会った先生方、社員、パートさんの皆さんと一緒に、100年に1度のチャンスの年を迎えることができました。

山梨を少しでも元気にしたい、という思いから、今年はヴァンフォーレ甲府のユニフォームスポンサーになりました。『ジットがあって良かった』と言ってもらえるチャンスの年です。この山梨で、地元で、皆が活躍できるように、山梨の活性化に繋がるように、支援していきます。

今、リサイクルインクのシェアは、日本国内全体の９％、その内ジットのリサイクルインクのは４％だけです。環境、価格、品質の良いリサイクルインクを売るチャンスです。
たっぷりントの開発は、この世の中になかったものの誕生です。厳しい時代の中で、少しでも安く、品質の良い製品を提供する事で、使ってくれた人を笑顔にする。幸せにする。そのための品質最優先です。そして、たっぷりントの品質を完璧なものにして、世に送り出すために顧問の先生方がジットにはいます。皆、お金のために仕事をしているのではありません。志を共にし、たっぷりントを世の中に提供したいという使命のもとに開発に取り組んでくれています。山梨は田舎ですが、ここから世界へ向けて発進して行きます。



中国にマンションを購入したばかりの辛部長に、私の右腕として本社に来てもらうことになりました。「社長がいたから、今の自分がある」と言ってくれた辛部長の言葉に、本当に嬉しく思いました。今年は、社員、パートさんがどれだけ一丸となれるかが勝負です。人は、ピンチ・逆境がなければ成長できないと私は考えます。自分をどれだけ追い込むことができるか。立ちはだかる壁を乗り越えることができるか。そこにかかっています。

ジットの夢であるたっぷりント。ジットは、これからも製品の開発に力を入れていきます。商品を手に取り購入してくださった人、使ってくださった人、製品を製造する人、販売する人、全ての人がジットの製品を通してドキドキ、ワクワクして楽しんでもらいたい。品質は、人が作るものです。皆さんには、製品や商品ではなく、自分自身を磨いてほしいと思っています。どれだけ自分の思いを伝えることができるか。言葉ではなく、『思い』が熱ければ、相手に必ず伝わります。私の思いを多くの人に伝えたい、それを形にしたのがこの社長ブログです。私はジットの代表として、これからもっともっとたくさん勉強していかなければいけないと思っています。

ジットという会社は世の中の公的なものです。これから工場拡大に向けて、周辺土地を購入します。利益をあげる事で地域に税金が入り、地元の皆さんのために有効に使ってもらうことができます。
私は53歳、あと9年で引退する事を考えています。6年後、メジャーリーグのチームも試合ができる程の野球場を建設し、山梨の野球チームを作ります。9年後には、学校を創立し、ジットや山梨の企業に就職する前に、社会人としてのマナー、人として大切なこと、挨拶、礼儀を教えたいと思っています。



今回の年度経営計画発表会で営業部長は力強く目標達成を誓ってくれました。セレモニー部長は、経営理念の思いを使命に、熱く語ってくれました。

全力で、今、この時代を生きていくために、チームジットとして経営理念に沿った行動をしていきます。社員、パートの皆さんにもこの経営理念に沿った行動をお願いします。ジットは今の時代に必要とされるものを作っていきます。それが、今はリサイクルインクであり、たっぷりントです。ジットは『人』を創る企業です。私の使命は、人を育てることです。私と一緒にいると元気になる、自分にもできる、と思ってもらえる、そういう人を増やしていきたい。素直な人を育てていきたい。ジットグループの今年のスローガンは『素直な思い』です。チームジットとして、本当の幸せを皆で一丸となり掴んで行きましょう。人間の成長に限界・幸せに限界はありません。全て自分自身次第です。

3rd Annual Mid-Term Management Strategy Presentation Meeting, 2009

On January 10^th, JIT held its 3^rd annual meeting to discuss our management strategies.  I was privileged to introduce Mr. Tanaka – a man I met 3 years ago – and Mr. Naito – one of the managers at HPD – as well as talk about my life before meeting these men and how grateful I am to everyone around me.  I truly am a lucky man and will not lose to adversity.  On the contrary, I will fulfill my thoughts.  The possibilities are endless.  It is with these feelings, the appreciation of both good and bad economies, and the determination to turn the current economic crisis into a chance for JIT that we began 2009. Much like a turtle, last year we progressed one sound step at a time.  I am very grateful to all those who accompanied and worked alongside me during this time.  Thank you. 

When I started JIT eighteen years ago, my goal at the time was the construction of a head office.  Next, when JIT Ceremony was established, my goal was to build halls around Yamanashi prefecture.  For me, once one goal is about to be accomplished, I begin setting the next goal.  Once I have a new goal, I declare it in front of everyone for if I tell others my goals, I will certainly act in a way to achieve them.  Even though I say such grand things in front of others, though, in my heart I worry to the point of headaches and insomnia.  Yet even though I am a man of weak nerves and fears, for the sake of everyone around me, I want to leave proof of the hard work of myself and those around me here at JIT. Specifically because our current situation is so severe, we must treasure our families, workers, and friends.  The managers and I must aim more and more for a mutual understanding of our purpose here at JIT and must act in accordance with JIT’s creeds. 

JIT Ceremony was made for the sake of everyone in Yamanashi prefecture.  It is JIT Ceremony that boasts “good people, good facilities, and good prices.”  From the Yamanashi ground beneath our feet, JIT contributes to the region through its funeral services, to Japan through its recycling, and to the world through DoubleJet.  This will be JIT’s time. 2009 will be a lucky year for JIT.  With those teachers we have met and those we are bound to meet, with our full-time employees and our part-time employees, we will work together to meet this once in a lifetime opportunity. 

With a hope of energizing even just a little Yamanashi prefecture, JIT became Venforet’s official uniform sponsor.  This year is our chance to hear people say, “I’m glad JIT exists.”  At both the prefectural and local levels, we are working to support the activation of Yamanashi. Currently, recycled ink accounts for approximately 9% of the ink in Japan, with JIT’s share only 4% of that.  This is our chance to sell a high-quality product that is good both for the environment and the wallet: the creation of DoubleJet was the birth of a product the world did not have.  In the midst of such a severe crisis as we face now, we are able to make DoubleJet customers happy by providing them a high-quality product as a lower cost than other ink manufacturers.  We will bring our customers happiness.  That is why we give such high priority to the quality of our product and why we have advisors and teachers here at the office: so that we can offer a perfect product.  JIT employees do not work here because of the money.  With the intention and mission to offer DoubleJet throughout the world, we are tackling the development of this product.  Although Yamanashi is a rural area, it is from here that we will turn towards the rest of the world. 

Manager Shin, although he only recently purchased a new apartment house in China, recently came to our headquarters to be by me as my right-hand man.  I was very honored by his declaration that “it is because of the JIT president that I am who I am today.”  This year is a contest to see how much our full-time and part time employees can bad together.  I believe that if there is no adversity in a person’s life, he will not mature.  To what extent are your self-motivated?  Can you surmount barriers in your way?  Success depends on these things. DoubleJet is JIT’s dream and we will continue to put our strength into developing this product.  It is my hope that anyone at all connected to DoubleJet – whether they merely pick it up, buy it, use it, manufacture it, or sell it – will enjoy and be excited by our product.  Quality is a man-made thing.  It is my hope, therefore, that you will all polish not the product but yourselves.  How well can your communicate your thoughts?  More than your words, it is important that your thoughts be passionate for if they are, you will surely be able to relay them to others.  This blog is my attempt to communicate my thoughts to many people.  As a deputy of JIT, I believe that I need to study much more.   

The JIT corporation is a public entity of the world.  With the goal of enlarging our factory, we plan to purchase the land surrounding our headquarters.  After 9 years, when I am 53, my plan is that I will retire.  In 6 years I hope to create a Major League baseball team and stadium here in Yamanashi.  Then, in 9 years, I will build a school where adults can study manners, etc. before they enter the workforce, whether here at JIT or elsewhere in Yamanashi. At this year’s management strategy presentation meeting, the head of the Sales department spoke strongly about attaining his goals.  Similarly, the head of JIT Ceremony spoke passionately about turning the management creeds into missions.   

Team JIT is committed to acting according to our creeds so that we may succeed during this time.  I ask here that all my employees, whether part-time or full-time, remember this and act according to JIT creeds.  JIT will make products necessary for the times, namely DoubleJet.  JIT is a company that cultivates people.  My mission is to raise people.  I want to increase the number of people who energize and inspire others, who are obedient and honest.  JIT’s slogan for 2009 is: “Honest Thoughts.”  Let us altogether as Team JIT grasp on to true happiness.  There are no limits to either a person’s growth or happiness.  All is dependent on oneself.

2009年初めの工場生産開始日である1月6日にパートさんを中心に新年会をしました。勤務時間中ということもあり、アルコール抜きでささやかに行いました。



パートさんの皆さんには、家族とのコミュニケーションを大事にしていただきたいということと、もっと石坂という私を、そしてジットグループを知っていただきたいと思います。今年も、可能な限り、皆さんと一緒に昼食を食べながら話をして、お互いを知って信頼し合える関係を築いていきたいと思っています。それがやがては会社の発展につながります。

ジットセレモニーの社員は、年末年始の休みもなく、仕事をしてくれました。営業部長の義父母がセレモニーを紹介してくださったことを『当たり前のこと』と、私に言ってくれた言葉がとても嬉しく、感動しました。人を信頼し合い、支えあうことの大切さを実感しました。



物に溢れ、便利になっても、自然や地球環境に人が与える影響をもう一度考えるようにと、神様が与えてくださったこの大不況を、私たちはチームジットとして、一致団結して乗り越えていきます。
そのひとつの方法として、地域密着のためのセレモニーです。そして、山梨を元気にするためにヴァンフォーレ甲府のユニフォームスポンサーになりました。山梨県民が一丸となって応援できるスポーツチームとしてヴァンフォーレ甲府があります。少しでも多くの皆さんを元気にすることができるように、山梨が潤うように努めていきます。
ジットグループは、セレモニー、リサイクルインク、たっぷりントの3本柱で世界を目指していきます。ジットで働く社員、パートさんを幸せにして、地域の皆さん、山梨を幸せにしていきます。

ジットは、環境づくりの観点から、『人』づくりを行っていきます。皆で一致団結することで、この難局を乗り越えていくとができます。社員、パートさん、全員がいてくれて、初めて“チームジット”が成立します。皆で協力して行きましょう。よろしくお願い致します。
　　
　　
　　
New Year’s Party: Part 2

On January 6, 2009 – the day work resumed in the manufacturing department – we held a New Year’s party focused at the part-time employees. As it was held during business hours, it was a modest affair with no alcohol. It was my hope that employees would come to understand the importance of family communication as well as get to know me and the JIT group. Similar to last year, employees again this year created trusting relationships as they shared conversations over lunch. Such moments and such relationships will eventually lead to the spread of our company.

I am grateful to the employees of JIT Ceremony who, even during this past end of the year break, worked tirelessly without taking a vacation. When I heard the in-laws of our Sales Department’s supervisor call the referral of JIT Ceremony a “natural move,” I was moved and truly realized the importance of supporting and trusting each other.

As I mentioned before, Team JIT is banding together to overcome this current economic crisis, itself a gift from God to make us realize that no matter how convenient something is, we must still think about our effect on the environment. One way we are doing this is through JIT Ceremony, a company connected closely to the region. Moreover, in order to energize and build up Yamanashi, we have become the official uniform sponsor for Ventforet, Yamanashi’s beloved soccer team. We are working hard to make Yamanashi profitable in the hopes that it will energize, even if only a little, the people around us. Standing on the three pillars of JIT – Ceremony, Recycling, and DoubleJet – we have our sights set on world-wide sales and will continue to work for the happiness of all JIT employees and everyone in the region.

With the aim to create a pleasant environment, JIT seeks to create good people. This is the beginning for Team JIT and thanks to the presence of our full-time and part-time employees and everyone connected with JIT, we can and will overcome the current economic crisis together. Let us work hard this following year! Thank you!

2009年1月3日、ジットグループは18回目の新年会を今年は改装したジット甲府プラザで社員と社員のご家族の皆さんと迎える事ができました。感謝致します。18年前は6人で始めた新年会も、今年は236名の皆さんと一緒に迎えられました。私は本当に幸せ者です。



今回は、今年の抱負と私がなぜ社員と社員のご家族の皆さんと毎年新年会をしているのか、お話したいと思います。
人は何かを伝えるため、自分の使命を見出すために生きていると私は考えています。今の自分に気が付けば、毎日勉強しなければいけないことに、自ずと気が付きます。
私が尊敬する人物の中のひとりである武田信玄は『人は石垣、人は城』と言っています。松下幸之助氏の言葉には『人が全て』とあります。毎日私は彼らの本を読み、その生き方や経営哲学を学んでいます。二人に共通する『人』を大事にするという事です。また、尊敬するYSK e-comの飯室社長からは『謙虚』に生きることを教えていただきました。何事も速く、早く、急ぐことが多い私に、もっとゆっくりと亀のようにしっかりと地に足を着いて行くことを諭してくださいました。周囲がどう動こうと、どう評価しようと、そのことに左右されずに、まだまだ小さい自分自身を認識し、足元からしっかりと固めていきます。
ジットで一緒に働く社員と家族は皆同じ家族です。まずは社員の幸せを願い、社員の家族の皆さんに幸せになってもらい、そして地域の皆さんに幸せになってもらうことが私の幸せです。地元、山梨のためにも、少しでも元気になってもらえるように、同じ気持ちで同じ方向に向かっていくために、足元から、社会に貢献していきます。



このジット甲府プラザの改装後、初めての催し物として新年会で社員とご家族の皆さんに見て頂きたいと思い、この場を提供させていただきました。地域の皆さんにはこのジット甲府プラザを是非利用して頂きたいと思います。この不景気な時だからこそ、ジット甲府プラザを改装し、新しく、明るくする事で、地域の皆さんを私たちジットから、少しでも元気にしたいと思っています。



また、今年はヴァンフォーレ甲府のユニフォームスポンサーになります。より一層、ヴァンフォーレ甲府の活躍を願い、応援して行きます。
昨年から引き続く世界的な大不況の中、ジットグループは『景気良し、不景気さらに良し』と言う気持ちで地域密着、社会貢献に努めていきます。厳しい時代だからこそ、人を大切にしていきます。
今年も、どうぞよろしくお願い致します。自分の成長、幸せに限界はありません。




Welcoming a New Year

On January 3rd, 2009, at the remodeled JIT Plaza in nearby Kofu, JIT held its 18th annual New Year’s party, giving employees and their families a time to gather together and welcome the new year. I am very grateful to all those employees and their families that were able to attend. Eighteen years ago when JIT its first New Year’s party, only 6 people were there; this year, however, over 230 were in attendance, reminding me once again how very fortunate I am.

This year it was my pleasure to speak about not only my ambitions for this year but also why JIT has a party every year for its employees and their families. In short, it is because I believe humans exist for the sake of communicating their thoughts and discovering their mission. When you really take notice of yourself, you will naturally realize the need for daily study.

One of the people I truly respect is TAKEDA Shingen (c.1521-1573) who wrote “People are stone walls. People are castles.” MATSUSHITA Kounosuke (1894-1989) later wrote, “People are everything. Every day I read books written by these men and through them am learning about their ways of life and management philosophies: both men shared a common regard for man. In addition to these two men, I also deeply respect the president of YSKe-com, Mr. IMURO, who taught me how to live humbly. He admonished me, saying that, like a tortoise, I should firmly plant my feet on the ground instead of running around with the idea that everything must be “fast, early, and in haste.” Without being blinded by the questions of how to move and evaluate our surroundings but instead recognizing how small we are, we must fortify from the ground up.

At JIT, our employees and their families are all one family. I wish first for the happiness of my employees and their families, but then also for the hapiness of everyone. Such is my own happiness. For the well-being of my hometown Yamanashi, we will work together under a common sentiment in order to build up society from the ground up.

I wanted the first event at JIT Plaza in Kofu after renovations were finished to be the New Year’s party with my employees and their families. Moreover, I hope that everyone in the area will take advantage of the plaza for in this period of poor economy, it is my hope that the renovations, through their feeling of newness and illumination, will give even just a little energy to those who use it.

This year JIT will also serve as the official uniform sponsor for the Ventforet soccer team. JIT is wishing and rooting for Ventforet’s success!

In the midst of this deep economic slump facing the world lately, JIT, with an attitude of “A good economy is good, but a bad economy is also good,” will work closely with its local community to build up society. Particularly in such severe times, we cherish human life and ask that you remember us in the following year. Remember, there are no limits to either your growth or your happiness.

今日はジットの1年の締めくくりとして、社長講習で皆さんに、私の話を聞いてもらいました。
私が会社を設立するまでの経緯は、これまでの社長講習で何度も話してきました。今日は、来年のジットグループの方向性、夢・目標について熱い思いを話ししました。



自然の摂理、山があれば谷がある。成功する人たちは皆、貧しさを経験してどん底を知り、身体が弱いことから無理をせず、自分の力は小さく、宇宙の中の一粒だけだと感じ、自然の大きさをわかっていることに共通します。どんなに問題があっても、どんなに辛くても、日はまた昇ります。太陽のパワーをもらって、生き物は成長します。太陽のように皆に元気を与えられるような人になることが私の人としての目標です。どういう人が『熱い人』なのか？それは、自分の思い、気持ちを素直に話す事ができる人です。過去を素直に話せること。ありのままの姿を見せることができることが『素直な人』です。素直さが一番大事です。
人は、歳を重ねるに連れて、本当の自分を見せることができなくなってくるものです。皆さんには、もっともっと素直になってほしいと思います。素直な人は、熱くなれます。たくさんの人に思いを伝えて、良い輪を広げて、皆が素直で熱い人になってくれることを願っています。



諦めない気持ち。必ずやる。何が何でもやる。目標は必ず達成する。全ては自分次第です。
企業も、会社も、人生も、継続することが大事です。自分から一生懸命に行動する。現状を見極めることができる人は、どうすればできるかを考えます。プラスになることを考えます。できない愚痴や言い訳をする人は、自分に甘く、できない理由を並べます。それは、自分の気持ちの持ち方次第で変われます。
人に厳しく、夢を大きく持っている人は、苦しいことも当然だと考えます。皆よりも大変なのは、当然のことだと思っています。『チームジット』の夢・目標を必ず達成するために、皆との約束を守るために、ジットという会社を潰すわけにはいかないのです。自分に負けないように、全員の気持ちを一致団結すれば、何でもできます。できない理由を考えるのではなく、どうすればできるかを考える。自分自身が作った殻を破り、自分を出すこと。自分から一歩前に出る勇気を持つこと。簡単なことです。いいと思うことはすぐに実行する。だめなことはすぐにやめる。できないと思うことでも、皆に公言することでできるようになります。できるかできないかは、熱意の違いです。



今年から来年にかけての大恐慌で、多くの企業、会社が倒産し、関連会社も倒産、それに伴う犯罪の増加が予想されます。私が生まれてから、初めて体験する危機です。本当に厳しくなります。しかし、人は仕事があってこそ、成長できるものです。だから、ひとりでも多くの人に、ジットで働いて欲しいと思います。「ジットで働きたい」と言ってもらえる、夢のある会社を作っていくことが目標です。皆、人生は一度きりです。必要とされる人になることが大事です。その人のためになるのであれば、嫌われるようなことでもきちんと伝えて、注意をする。最後には、必ずわかる時が来ます。人は、誰もが嫌われることを恐れます。しかし、周りの人にも幸せな良い人生を送ってもらえるような人生を送りたいと思うものです。駄目なことはきちんと相手に伝えてください。今を、一瞬を、一生懸命に生きてください。年齢は関係ありません。
地元、山梨を元気にするためにも、どこに行っても『山梨と言えばジット』と言われるような会社にしていきたいと思っています。夢も目標も、必ず成し遂げます。成長・幸せに、ゴールはありません。永遠に続いていきます。来年、再来年は100名を越す社員数になります。また皆で笑顔で健康で迎えられるように、お願いします。必ず夢を実現します。社員、パートさんを幸せにします。今年1年間、ありがとうございました。ジットは永遠に人が全てです。




Year-End Wrap-Up


As a wrap-up to this past year at JIT, I gave a speech to my employees this morning. I have shared the story of JIT’s founding countless times before and today spoke passionately about this and the direction, dream, and goals I have for the JIT corporation.

Excerpts from Today’s “President’s Course”
It is one of nature’s laws that if there is a mountain there will also be a valley. Successful people are those who have experienced poverty or need, understand what it means to be at the very bottom, and – understanding their own weaknesses – do not overexert themselves. Rather, they recognize the limits of their own power and, with a sense of their position as merely one grain in the midst of the entire universe, seek community with the greatness of nature. No matter what problems there may be, no matter how much suffering there may be, the sun will still rise. It is from this same sun that all living things receive power. It is my goal to be a person who, like the sun, is able to energize those around me.

Yet what kind of person is an “on fire person?” I believe such a person is one who can honestly and frankly communicate to others his thoughts and feelings. It is someone who can speak openly about the past and who exhibits honesty. Honesty and tractability are the most important traits in a person. As they age, humans lose the ability to show their true selves but it is my hope that everyone will become much more honest, open, and accepting for it is that kind of person who is able to become an “on fire person.” It is my desire that you are able to convey your thoughts to many people, that you are able to widen the ring of goodness, and that you become someone who is honest, open, accepting, and passionate.

“Do not give up.” “To do without fail, no matter the cost.” “I will, without fail, achieve my goals.” Such thoughts are entirely up to you.

Continuation is important, whether for a corporation, a company, or human life. Therefore, we willingly work to the best of our ability. I believe that those who are able to assess the current situation for what it is are able to do what should be done and are, therefore, beneficial. Someone who always complains and gives excuses is self-indulgent and merely lines up excuses for his failures. This can change, though, depending on how one holds onto his emotions. Those who are strict with others, who carry their dreams in a grand way will think of suffering as natural. I think that natural occurrences are more serious that even the effects of those around you.

For the sake of achieving Team JIT’s dream and goals, as well as in order to keep our word to everyone, the JIT company will not fail. If we refuse to lose to ourselves and instead ban together with common ideas and thoughts, we can do anything. We do not think of excuses for why we couldn’t do something but rather think of ways in which we will be able to achieve our goals. Breaking the shells we have built around ourselves, it will be easy to break free of ourselves and to have the courage to change ourselves. If there is something you think is worthwhile, do it. Likewise, if it is something bad, stop it immediately. Even those things which are thought to be impossible become possible when shared with others. The difference between ability and inability is merely a difference in enthusiasm.

The great economic depression that began this year and will continue into the next will witness the bankruptcy of many corporations and companies as well as their associated companies. As a result, a rise in crime levels is predicted. This will be the first time since I was born that I will personally experience a crisis. Things have truly become grave. However, so long as humans have work, they can succeed. Therefore, although I am only one person, it is my hope that many people will come work at JIT. It is my goal to create a company that people want to work at and that has a dream. We all have only one life and it is important to be someone who is needed. Such a person is one who can accurately convey what he dislikes and who can heed advice given to him. Eventually, a time of absolute understanding will come.

Humans are afraid of being disliked. However, they are also beings who want to create a happy, positive life for those around them. Therefore, please clearly communicate to each other those things that you think are useless or no good. No matter what your age, please live the present – this very second – to the utmost.

I hope to create a company that enhances its surroundings and that is synonymous with Yamanashi will accomplish both my dreams and my goals. There is no goal, so to speak, or end in maturing or happiness. Rather, both are infinite. Either this next year or the following year the number of JIT’s full-time employees will exceed 100 people.

As always, I hope that everyone is happy and healthy. You will achieve your dreams. Both full-time and part-time employees will find happiness.

Finally, I would just like to say thank you. As it has always been and will always be, JIT believes that everything comes down to humans. Thank you, everyone, for this past year.

体調を崩してしまいました。全て自分自身の問題です。今年は1日も休むことなく仕事をし先月は特に海外帰国後翌日には国内と出張等が続き、無理をしてしまい、結果的に周りの皆さんに心配をかけ、大勢の人に予定を変更してもらいました。今までは正月やゴールデンウイークに体調を崩していましたが反省です。自分の体を維持できないのに会社を維持できるわけがありません。後悔はしていませんが今からは体が基本、無理は禁物でスケジュール等をつくります。反省反省です。ご迷惑またご心配をおかけしまして誠にすみませんでした。

しかし、気づきもたくさんありました。話が出来ること、自由に歩けること、家族の優しさ、社員の優しさ、仲間や先輩方の心配りに本当に感謝しています。特に私の留守の朝礼のメールを社員から報告を受けベッドの上で泣けました。神様にも感謝いたします。有難うございました。全て偶然ではありません。

これも試練、勉強です。日ごろ当たり前にしている行動に感謝です。

出張、研修を通して幹部社員の皆さんから大きな勇気もらいました。体調を崩してしまい参加できなかった月曜日の朝礼は、『チームジット』は石坂が一人で引っ張るのではなく、今日からは幹部が中心になり組織力で進んで行くと、神様から第一歩のチャンスをいただいたと感じています。
社長不在でも、社員全体朝礼で幹部社員は熱い思いを表明してくれました。コミュニケーションが一番大事です。仕事の能力ではなく心のつながりです。
私は絶対にジットに関わる全ての人を幸せにします。胸を張ってジットの社員と家族全員が言える素直で熱い思いがほとばしる『チームジット』をつくります。全て一人一人自分次第です。
景気良し、不景気さらに良し。逆境には絶対に負けない。逆境こそが人間の一番の成長であり、逃げるか立ち向かうしかありません。来年は世界大不況となるでしょう。しかし、『チームジット』は人員募集も売上利益も過去最高の増加率を見込んでいます。来年で全てが決まると思っています。社員一人一人、皆さん自分自身が全てを決める年になります。
思い、方向が違う人は別の道を行く。それは、その人のためでもあり、会社のためでもあります。『チームジット』は“ジット魂”が全てです。ジットに関わる全ての人が家族 だからこそ、家族全員が幸せになる為に厳しく優しく、熱く接します。

私の、そして研修出張から帰ってきた幹部社員の熱い思いを聞いた社員から、一つの目標に向かって『チームジット』として、一致団結し、目標を達成するんだという気迫を感じた。ピンチをチャンスに変えていくことは、一人ではできない。でも、『チームジット』としてみんなで努力していけば、必ずチャンスになり達成できる。自分もその一員として、皆とコニュニケーションをとりながら、全力で目標に向かって努力していかなければいけないと強く感じた。これでいいやというのではなく、これでよいのかということを常に考えながら、1年後、３年後を見据えて頑張る、という感想をもらいました。
また、セレモニー事業に於いて、社員が胸を張って家族親戚にジットの思い、ジットの良さを伝え、信頼して利用していただけなければ、お客様に安心して利用していただくこともできないと感じた。ジットセレモニーも、ジットも、同じ家族として、もっとお互いに理解しあい、信頼しあい、協力していかなけらばいけないと気づいてくれました。
別の社員からは、『チームジット』について、日頃から感じている縦横のコミュニケーション不足と関わりについて非常に考えさせらた、とありました。そして、今後は、上司にも同僚にも後輩にも、勇気をもって積極的に関わっていくと決意してくれました。セレモニーも『チームジット』として、私達スタッフが、進んで家族や親族、地元の皆様に、セレモニーの創業精神と経営方針を熱く伝え知っていただかないことには、誰も幸せになれない。一層気を引き締めて頑張る、と言ってくれました。

幹部社員一人一人、熱い思いを話しているその内容を聞いて、これまで自分が所属している部署のことしか考えられていなかった。何か問題があっても自分には関係ないという思いがどこかにあって、自分のこととして捉えられていなかった。綱引きの話に共感し、一人で引っ張っても、また一人が引っ張らなくても負ける。みんなが同じ方向に一生懸命引っ張ってこそ勝つことができる、だから一人も欠けることなく、みんなが目標や夢に向かって同じ方向へ進んでいくことが大切だと感じた、と感想をくれました。
ジットグループはいくつかの事業部にわかれているが、外部から見れば営業も製造も業務もセレモニーも全てが“ジット”。みんなが自分の事よりも周りのひとのこと、自分のあとに作業する人のことを考えて行動していかなければならないと思った。 社員の親族の葬儀が別の会社で執り行われていることを聞いたセレモニー部長は「自分の息子の誕生日会が他の家で行われて、それに呼ばれていくくらい悲しい」と話していた。それだけ幹部の方たちは部下である私たちのことを子どものように、家族のように思ってくれている気持ちが伝わり、嬉しいと思うとともに、それに応えられていない自分を恥ずかしく思った。『チームジット』、そして家族として一人一人がお互いを思いやり、コミュニケーション、報連相を密にしていきたいと感想をくれました。
ジット、ジットセレモニー別の会社ですが、同じグループです。『チームジット』として一致団結して行きたいという社員からの感想に、嬉しく思います。

ジットはみんな家族。今までは、開発は開発だけ、製造は製造、営業は営業、セレモニーはセレモニーという考えがあり、横や縦のつながりが弱かったが、それではこれからジットが成長していくには難しい。“ジット”はみんな一つで、一人ではできない事も仲間の力があれば可能である。自分自身も幹部の方達に負けないよう周りとしっかりとコミュニケーションをとり、全て自分の問題として考えられるよう成長していこうと、幹部社員の話を聞き、強く思ってくれる社員もいました。

Illness
This past week, through my own carelessness, I let my health deteriorate. The fault is entirely mine as this year I worked every day without taking even one day of vacation. Moreover, the day after returning from an overseas business trip I continued my business meetings, this time going to Kyushu. I pushed myself to an unreasonable level and in doing so caused those around me to worry. Moreover, because of my carelessness, others were forced to alter their plans.

While I was sick, I thought seriously about how up until now, I only let myself go during the New Year’s and Golden Week vacation periods and realized that a person who cannot take care or sustain his own body cannot properly care for or sustain a company. While I am not regretful, from now on I will schedule my time based on my body as a foundation and the idea that I must not overtax myself or push myself to such an unreasonable level. I am so very sorry for causing trouble and worry to all of you.

However, this experience also caused me to realize how incredibly grateful I am for things that I often take for granted: the ability to talk, the ability to walk on my own, the tenderness of my family and friends, care from my colleagues and superiors and, in particular this time, the morning assembly reports from my employees, through which I was often moved to tears.

None of this was an accident but rather a test or opportunity for study to realize and appreciate the normal everyday actions of those around me. I am grateful to those around me and to God as well. Thank you so very much.

Progressions
I am grateful for the courage and spirit demonstrated by the managers at JIT during my recent absences. I feel that my inability to participate in the company-wide Monday morning assembly was a chance from God for the managers to take a more central role. Rather than “Team JIT” being merely something that I want or try to make happen, from now on the managers will be at the heart of this endeavor. In my absence, the entire employee body still met for morning assembly where the managers expressed many passionate ideas. As I have said before, I believe that communication born not out of an aptitude for work but rather a connection of hearts is the most important part of life.

I will unconditionally strive to bring happiness to everyone connected to JIT. I will make “Team JIT” a group that causes pride and passion to well up in the hearts of all JIT employees and their families.

Whether the economy is good or bad does not matter: JIT will not be defeated by adversity. As I said before, it is in adversity that humans experience their greatest growth for there is no choice but to either stand and face the challenge or run away. It seems that the world will face a deep slump next year. However, “Team JIT” anticipates a record high in both the number of its personnel as well as its sales profits. All will be decided in the next year for JIT and its employees.

Humans do not all follow the same path. Our differening opinions and associations cause us to take different paths than those around us will follow. This is also true for companies.

“Team JIT” represents the entirety of the JIT spirit. Everyone connected with JIT is family and it is for their happiness that we passionately and relentlessly push each person to the best of his ability.

I feel that we have achieved what I and the managers so passionately hoped for: that being that all employees who heard our ideas for “Team JIT” have banded together to achieve that dream. One person alone cannot change a crisis into an opportuntiy. However, if all of us work together as a team – as Team JIT – we will without fail be able to turn this time of struggle into an opportunity. I strongly feel that I also must work with all my might toward this goal. I feel that employees are constantly looking ahead, be it to one year or 3 years in the future, and are giving their all toward the future.

If employees are not proud of JIT and do not have faith in it, if they do not share the thoughts and strong points of this company with their relatives, then customers will not feel at peace with us and will not want to work with us. If the employees of JIT and JIT Ceremony, as members of the same family, do not connect more, do not trust each other more, and do not continue to work hard, we will not succeed.

Thoughts from a JIT Employee
One employee, after great thought about Team JIT and feeling the lack in communication amongst JIT’s employees, decided to be more proactive in making connections with his colleagues, whether they be his superiors or regular coworkers. According to this employee, if our staff does not communicate the founding and continuing ideals of JIT Ceremony, being as it is part of Team JIT, none of us will succeed. The final point of this employee’s message was that we should brace ourselves and persevere:

“After hearing how about the passion with which the managers spoke, I realized that until this point I thought of little beyond my own post. Even if a problem occurred, in some respects I felt it had little relationship to myself and failed to treat it as my own problem. To use the analogy of a game of tug-of-war: if you are alone, whether you struggle or not does not matter. You will lose. I recently heard that a person is able to win only if the people around him are all striving in the same direction; therefore, it is important that all of us strive for the target. Although the JIT group can be broken into various parts, if looking at it from an outsider’s perspective all of these parts form one JIT. Rather than focusing on ourselves, we must things of those around and their work. As one of the managers of JIT Ceremony said after hearing that the funeral service of one of JIT’s employees was handled by a different company: “If my son’s birthday party took place at someone else’s house, I would feel terrible. Such is the level of sorrow I feel at this.” Yet although I was happy to see that JIT’s managers treated those below them as their children and thought of their colleagues as family, I was nevertheless embarrassed at my inability to respond. It is my hope that each member of the JIT family will sympathize with each other and value communication. JIT and JIT Ceremony may be separate companies but they are the same group.”

I would like to express my sincere pleasure at these words from this employee who seeks to work together as a member of Team JIT.

JIT is a family. Until now, development has been development, manufacturing has been manufacturing, trade has been trade, and Ceremony has been Ceremony. Horizontal and selfish connections have been weak. In such an evironment, it has been difficult for JIT to succeed. However, JIT will now seeks to be a place where everyone works together as one and where things that cannot be accomplished alone are possible through the power of one’s colleagues. We have employees who will not lose to either themselves or their superiors, who communicate with those around them and who treat all problems as if they were their own.
